Debra Mauro: Meet the NFP Partners Team

Debra is a seasoned finance professional who has been successfully supporting nonprofit organizations to achieve their financial goals for over 20 years. Additionally, she is a graduate of the College of William and Mary with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.

Debra joined NFP Partners’ in 2024 and brings her skills to support the company’s staff accountants. She also provides high-level accounting and finance services to nonprofit clients. These include month-end reviews and reconciliations, customized financial reporting, and interface with Boards and management.

Debra’s career has focused exclusively on nonprofits since 2000. At this time, she joined the Council for Higher Education as Director of Finance and Operations. She continued to support educational organizations performing the same function for independent schools. She’s been the Director of Finance and Operations for a private academic middle school for students of chamber music in California. Furthermore, she’s served in the same role at an independent K-12 school in Virginia.

Debra uses her analytical skills to solve complicated accounting issues and streamline processes for nonprofits. She’s been a valued member of leadership teams, contributing her financial skills to effect organizational change. She’s familiar with helping diverse constituents understand the financial aspects of their organizations.

Debra recently moved to Pennsylvania to support her aging parents. She has one son and two granddaughters who continually delight her. In her free time, she enjoys hiking and biking and is excited to explore new outdoor adventures in Pennsylvania.
